Supplemental Warp - April 11, 10:00 - 3:00
Instructor: Marie MacDonald

A supplemental warp is an extra warp that weaves in, on top, or below the background warp. This is a decorative weaving technique that allows freedom in design and colour. Participants in the workshop will assist in winding a warp on a loom, threading and sleying the reed, and will weave samples in a round-robin fashion.

They're organizing a series of workshops at the Gaelic College in 2015 and beyond. There are a couple of one day workshops coming up this spring, and a three day workshop planned for the fall.

Teams of spinners and knitters from all over the world get together (at separate venues) to shear a sheep, spin some yarn and knit an adult sweater... in a day following international rules.

Members of the Lake Ainslie Weavers & Craft Guild will be participating in this challenge on May 5 beginning at 8:30am at the Judique Community Centre.
