A Dorset Button is a style of button which originated in the county of Dorset, England.
Dorset buttons can be used wherever you might use a button, also as a visual interest on a garment or in jewellery. They are made with natural thread such as linen, silk or cotton on a ring which can be metal, wood or plastic.
About Judy: Judy likes handmade crafts of all kinds. Her interest in Dorset Button started by watching historical period drama movies and wondering about the buttons. Knitting, weaving, dyeing and spinning have been her interests for many years. It all started when they raised Angora goats for their fleece. They had the goats for 28 years, the goats provided the mohair which was sent to woollen mills to be transformed into yarn. They were delightful animals. Kind, gentle and great mothers to their kids. She misses them!!!
